Double Bass Rosin formula, how to make rosin.

Hi,
I want to learn how to make my own rosin. who do I need to talk to.¨?We are a couple of guys in my section who would love to make our own blend.
My local luthiers had no idea . It can´t be that difficult can it? Is this something someone learns at violin making school?

all tips and advice are welcome.

Got to suspect a bit of Dunning Kreuger here with the "It can´t be that difficult can it?"

Beware of setting the house on fire. Heat plus flammable liquids can be an exciting combination, best enjoyed where an error won't leave you homeless, or involve visits from the fire brigade or other officials.

Grab some tree sap and cook it for a while. If you get maple syrup, it was the wrong tree. An old crock-pot from the thrift store might be among the safer heating options, but I'd still suggest staying outside and well clear of other things that could be ignited.

Ha Ha, indeed.
