Rotosound Jazz RS77 string tension

I'm a long-time flats player, but I'd never tried Rotosound before. I bought the Steve Harris edition a few months back because I usually like heavy gauge strings (they are 50-110), but the string tension is just too high and I've got to get rid of them. I do like the sound though. So does anyone know if the lower gauge RS77s have less tension?

I ask because I know string gauge isn't always the cause of high tension and I don't want to buy lighter set of the same strings if they're going to be so tight anyway. My bass was set up when I put the Harris strings on, so that's not the issue.

Thanks in advance!

I'm using a set of 45-105 77s on a Squier CV P. I'm quite happy with them. When I replaced the original strings, I was expecting a truss rod adjustment would be required. It did need about 1/4 of a turn. They have been on for a couple of months now with no issue. Last Sunday at practice I was noticing they sound like they are settling in and are nice and mellow already.

Rotos are known to be particularly high tension, i actually emailed Rotosound earlier this month about the possibility of a lighter gauge set of flatwounds, they said that they are looking at similar comments regarding further popular options that players seek, i expect flats are probably not there highest selling item but fingers crossed, maybe if enough people ask for them we might see a set made
