Was so excited ....waited so long......one of my favourite movie series

Story....slow, boring, no tension.....and just such a non creative story considering how long they had to come up with a tension filled knock out

I could have written a more appealing story....and that is not saying much

I'm afraid the greatness of the first two movies could not transcend time to older Jason and co

I found Homeland more riveting on TV

This made me think...What happens to ageing super heroes?

and to add....his memory loss....proving his innocence......Pamela Landy.....clever fight scenes etc...all seemed missing

the character himself lost all the tension we felt in those three movies

In real life, they often don't live to get old.

Most likely they shot it on a tripod and added the camera shake in post.
I don't know anything about filmmaking but that makes sense. I doubt there's a guy with a handheld camera actually shaking it.

Which makes it even worse when you think about it. A bunch of guys in an editing room watching a very clear recording of a beautifully choreographed fight sequence and someone says "let's uh.....lets put some shaking in there. Yah, that's the ticket."

Because shaky camera=excitement. Otherwise how is the audience supposed to know their excited?
Shaky camera + constant quick cuts (like, 1/4 second before cutting to a different camera angle) = action or fight scene that's very frustrating or even headache-inducing to watch.

Thank God these filming and editing methods weren't used on Bruce Lee movies. Of course, only a complete idiot would think Bruce Lee needed it.

And then it's even more of a shame because of Bourne's fighting style. What is it? I think it's some kind of Krav Maga variant where every hit is as brutal as possible and any item can be used as a weapon, or something like that? Whatever it is, it's awesome. A well choreographed fight can be so beautiful. Like ballet. But they shake the damn camera around for no good reason.

Thanks for pointing out the shaky camera thing.
Now I don't have to waste my time watching that crap.

Same thing on a lot of reality shows on t.v. too. I'll watch one episode if I haven't seen it. As soon as they start in with the epileptic camera...I'm gone.

It isn't "exciting"...it isn't "the new sexy"....it's just crap moronic camera work.

I heard that this latest Bourne picture used a director that is famous for that sh*t.

I think it was the Blair Witch Project that launched the lousy shaky camera work. Worst picture I ever saw.

The first of the new Star Trek movies employed a lot of hand held camera shaking scenes.....I think it actually worked for that pupose.....
But Bournes fight scenes were technical and skillful and my favourite parts of the old movies....

New film...I'm not sure what was going on in any of the fighting or action scenes.....except eyestrain and a headache

Bourne was a great character as I think we could empathise and relate to him...
he seemed like a normal guy....with unexpected abilities.......now.....hmmmm??????????????
