A few months ago I purchased a Surf Green P Bass clone from Sawtooth Guitars that caught my eye. The bass is well made and the price was hugely discounted and sold through JC Penney of all places.

I signed on to get their newsletter and this was in my email. They seem to be upping their game considerably. They've added more basses to their line up.

The Spalted Natural Maple American Heritage Series looks promising.

That Rebel24 series seems weird. Given the bridge placement, I would have assumed short scale! But apparently it's a full 34". I wonder how they play.....almost seems like it might have that all neck feel.

Don’t know.

However I do own one of the EP Series in Surf Green that is made well and plays well.

First time I ever heard of them was when someone in the acoustic fetish club had a Rudy Sarzo ABG.

Looks like they stuck a 24 fret neck on a body designed for 20 or 21, and let the extra length hang out both ends. Looks like it might have the combination of extra reach needed and neck dive. I'd be a bit careful about that design....

Trying to be Innovative perhaps? Or Bucking the stodgy old norm?
Something other than the Fender status quo box?
They already have a P Bass clone so I gotta give some credit for a sorta gibson/ibanez mix

This is my "Funk Machine' The string were almost as much as the bass. New pickups and electronics.I shielded it and reshaped the neck. A few other little setup things, but now this bass is so nice I can barely put it down, and I have some other really great basses. My cheapest bass but you would never know it if you played it.
