I was presented an opportunity to straight trade my MIM Player Jazz Bass in aged natural for this SBMM Ray34 Ash in natural with a really dark roasted maple neck. It’s a gorgeous looking bass and I like a lot of the features on it. Yes, I know they are entirely different basses sound-wise. I am mainly hoping to find out a little bit more on the quality of it. Is the craftsmanship between the two basses comparable? TIA

No doubt that Sterling Ray34 are better build quality than Mim Player. The roasted neck are bonus.
But..... they sound different.... how about get both ?

Forgot to mention that most ray34h I try at GC are quite heavy. More than 9lbs are heavy bass to me.

I have the Player Jazz already and have been rocking it for about 8 months. It was my first, believe it or not. I was a big Ibanez Soundgear nerd for a long time. I have been eyeing a Lakland J that I will probably add to the collection later this year. Never owned a MM though and have always wanted one!
