My 4 string Ibanez SRX500 was looking a little worse for wear. The rosewood fretboard had lost its lustre after being neglected for a couple of years, so I took the strings off of it, and oiled it. Took almost an hour and 5 coats to bring it back. I did a setup and restrung it.
Plugged it in, and I’d forgotten how nice a scalloped board feels..
So, it was time for some 6 string surgery.

I wasn’t as aggressive with the scallops this time. Instead of a hard finish, I tapered it to the bottom of the center markers on the fretboard.
Full step bends are now effortless and easy to control.
Easy mod, and well worth the 45 minutes it took.
