Service after the sale?

Just curious what you guys tell your customers when you sell a bass? I figure it's a "bring it back if there are any problems" type situation, but then I was thinking do I really want to be responsible for something like a preamp or pickup issue. Perhaps it happens so rarely that it's not worth worrying about.

I cover any problems that may arise for as long as the customer owns the bass as long as it's not caused by neglect or inflicted by the owner (dents, scratches etc). If something goes bang, the client pays for the part and I fit it free of charge. If the new owner is local and not handy with setups I also offer free basic setups for as long as they own the instrument.

But yes, it's not much to worry about as things don't tend to go wrong if they've been done right the first time. I have far more takers for the free setup than anything going wrong! Which is fine with me :)
