Where do you guys (and girls) get boxes to ship basses when you sell them online? Mostly I've sold mine locally, and when I did sell one online I happened to have a box left over from a recent purchase. I have two basses for sale on Reverb right now (Squier Jazz fretless, and a 1988 Fender Japan medium scale P-bass). I need to come up with two boxes when they sell. Ideas? Thanks.

Go to a bicycle shop, most folks cycle home when buying a pushbike leaving the shop to dispose of the box.

Have to say I find the thought of paying a shop to lessen their refuse costs rather strange. If one asked me to pay I'd point out it cost them money to dispose of waste and I'd be doing them a favour. They'd never get any business from me again.

Heck I'd turn down the offer of a free box just for their brass neck.

Bike shops are a good idea, whether they'll give you one probably depends on how much online sales they do.

Lowes and home depot usually have appliance boxes. You have to cut and fold them into a bass sized box but it's not tgat difficult.

Both UPS store and the UPS hub near me take boxes from people who receive their item there and then sell them or give them away.

The Fed Ex store that I deal with also does the same thing but not as much depending on whether the staff there are uptight and miserable or relaxed and friendly.
