I'm using a LaBella tapered .128 now, tuned to C on a 30" bass. It's okay, but it's got issues. Anybody find a short B string they love? I prefer flats, but I am open to trying anything that may be crisper and more usable up the neck.

I don't use a short-scale 5-string set of flats for myself. But the selection is rather limited to begin with.

All I know is Dunlop flats do come in a factory short-scale 5-string set.

I had issues with the Labella .128 in short scale. The Dunlop .125 works much better for clarity and evenness of tone and playing feel across the set.
I’m pretty sure they’re called “medium” but they fit my 30.5” scale 5-er just fine.
They’re just a tad brighter, and tension is similar to DTFL’s, IMO.
