should i change my tuning heads?

a long while back, i bought 4 pack of tuning heads to replace a broken tuning head on my bass. the other tuners work, they stay in tune. when twisting the new tuner, it feels more tense/strong.

if i change my tuners would doing so improve my tone, like improve tension?

Tuners generally won't affect tone, you only need to change them if the old one aren't holding.

Since you brought the question up, it seems to be weighing on your mind. You may as well change them to get it out of your head. It will only make a difference in that you won't spend more time thinking about it. Lus it's fun to tinker: you might learn something. Peace of mind is priceless.
