Should I get a used 5 string Jazz bass or Ibanez SR506?

I am on my two final decisions and I was wondering if anybody had experience with either or both of these basses? So can a couple people help me and list the pros and cons of a 5 string Mexican jazz bass and the Ibanez SR506? Much appreciated!

Aside from being five string basses they have nothing else in common. Different feels and sounds. Each has its pros and cons based on preference. For me, I don't like Ibanez necks or looks or active electronics. But those are all pros for lots or people.

So, should I play them both and decide on which one I like more if possible?

First of all, the SR506 is a 6 string and not a 5 string so, that might be a big CON. I think you want a SR505. These basses are apples and oranges. About the only thing they have in common is that they both have 5 strings and they are a bass guitar. The Fender has a wider neck and wider string spacing than the Ibanez. The Ibanez has a much more active full range hi-fi tone where the Fender has a traditional old school jazz bass tone.

The question is which should you get first? You're talking an apple and an orange. Or should I say apple or orange.
