Show me your Medium and Short Scale 5 Stringers!!!

Best medium scale 5 I’ve played was the Spector Bantam, but it’s expensive and has a thiccc neck and in the end it was uninspiring. Second best was an Ibanez Mezzo SRMD205 which punched way above it’s weight class for price. If you want to dip your toes in the water I couldn’t think of a better suggestion than the Ibanez. The world of short and medium scale 5 strings is small. The most shocking thing is the lack of 32” 5 strings in the $500-2,000 range.

I don’t have pictures to support my story, but believe me, I’ve been down this road.

I've got a 32'fretless Wishbass I picked up for $200 a couple years ago. I'd snap a pic but it's 9000 miles away right now. Passable B. Really playable. It's one of his piezo only models which is it's only downfall. Wishnevsky goes real cheap on the piezo element. Have to run it through a Zoom A3 just to buffer it properly for an amp.
I've put maybe 5 hours of sanding and filing into that bass...

I have the exact same Ibanez as @B-Mac . Quite a nice bass for the $300-ish I paid for it. But they’ve been discontinued for several years so I’m not sure how easily you could find one.

If your budget could go 7-10X higher, Serek makes several short scale models that seem worth serious consideration.

i’ve been after one of those ibanez agb205 basses for awhile now. i can’t seem to find one anywhere. how do you like yours?

I like it but I suck at 5 string. I have the AGB200 as well which is the 4 string version.
The AGB205 has tight string spacing, but I play with a pick so I adjust a bit easier.
Might be too tight for you? Scale is broken down in 10ths of an inch.
