After about 5 years of having my favorite mic not working, I have finally decided to send it back to Shure and have it repaired. I bought my Shure Beta 87C about 10 years ago now. Used it faithfully for just about 5 years and it just stopped working. Well, I kind of finally got sick with myself for not sending it in sooner and put it in the mail today.
They have blanket repair costs. For my 87C it is $101 + $5 return shipping.
My question is to you, has anyone ever sent a mic back to Shure for repair? How did it go? How long was the turn around? What was your result? Any other things I should have known before I just filled out the repair slip and sent my mic in the mail?
Yes, I did get a tracking number and I filled out the complete form from their website.

before sending it, check the wires connecting to the xlr connector. It is a common point of failure on mic's - particularly when they just stop working as opposed to slowly degrading or getting fuzzy sounding. super easy to fix with a soldering iron...

ah.. just saw that you already mailed it...
