Sire MM U5 and flats/tapes

I've just ordered a Sire U5. I haven't played a shorty in years, but I did own a Burns London for around 40 years and really enjoyed playing it.
I will want to change the strings as soon as it arrives, and I was wondering if there are any other U5 owners out there who have fitted either flats or (preferably) tapes?
If so, what length did you go for?

Haven't but the string-thru body option will let you get away with longer strings than some.
