Sire P7 Preamp

Has anyone opened up their Sire P7 to look at the preamp? If so, got any pictures? I'm curious if it has the same footprint as the V7 preamp. The knobs look further apart in the promotional photos on thetheir website, which would make sense since the P7 pickguard has more real estate to work with.

I have not, but I have looked inside a V7, and it looks like the preamp has all the circuitry connected to the pots. Knowing Sire's business model, I would imagine that it's the exact same preamp, connected to a different control plate/pickguard.

IMO, best preamp in any price range, that Sire.

Please let us know! When I looked under the hood of the V7, the electronics were on tiny boards directly connected to the individual pots and connected by wires. It looked like you could arrange the knobs almost any way you want.

I just got one today, she sounds marvelous but I haven’t looked under the hood

One of these came into the local gc. Was really impressed, even with the lack of set up.

Mine came in the other day. Had a buzzing through the amp and found and cold solder joint on the P pickup. After I touched it up, it's perfect.
