So, new Tool?/JC/Warwick stuff from NAMM

Most likely not new Tool riffs because the much anticipated so-called new album has no timetable of release yet. I don't think in the age of the internet he'd be so dumb as to start playing unreleased Tool riffs, but you never know. Probably a clickbait title. I do notice he still sounds remarkably like himself, showing that a lot of tone is in the hands.

Most likely, like everyone else, Justin has a set of generic riffs he plays in situations like this. Or at least I hope so. Because if they are Tool riffs, then the new album is gonna be lame.

Tool has made it very clear they have made significant headway on the album. It could be riffs. It could not be. No one knows. One thing is for sure though: To imply an album will be lame based on this with zero context is dumb.
They've been saying they're making "significant headway" since at least 2012. Even Maynard publicly called out his bandmates as essentially lazy dudes on the Joe Rogan show. And you can call my opinion dumb if you want. That's fine with me. I won't say the same thing about you since that is beneath me. But again, if these are riffs from a new Tool album, all I have to say is "I waited since 2006 for this?"

Carey said its coming this year. Adam Jones' Instagram said, "Music is done. Lyrics coming in hard"... that JC Warwick Custom Shop Masterbuilt Streamer Stage II is glorious!... As far as album riffs, not likely. Sounds like his side projects and messing around. He rarely slaps anyway, and it shows lol. Still, if I judged a band based on just hearing the simple lone bare riffs I'd be disappointed in a "LOT" of bands and players

Just a quick correction. At no point did Maynard say his band mates were lazy. He specifically asked joe if he (Maynard) seemed like a lazy person. He then went on to explain that the bands lengthy writing process is the cause for the delay.

Maynard's heart is more in Pucifer right now. From what I've read, he will not even begin writing lyrics for Tool until all of the music is done. LOL. So, I get it and I'm happy that he makes music.
The issue I have with this is, me and my friend were quoting when we first heard about puscifer, got really excited, then just couldn’t listen to it and agreed that it was well... not good. Love Maynard with tool and apc but puscifer is just like 180 degrees and not listenable in my opinion... more tool and apc needed!

Seeing and hearing that makes me give even less of a deuce about whatever/ whenever Tool comes out with something new.

How does it take that band over a decade to put together an hours worth of riffs in D minor?

I enjoy Puscifer. For a while there all he was doing was remixing the same old crap and repackagingnit and selling it over and over. Now he is putting out different albums that are pretty good. I saw them live and they put on one helluva show.
