As a 40 year diehard Rush fan, I have and do listen to their entire catalog. Like a lot of people, I got the fever starting w/Moving Pictures and ESL. I enthusiastically embraced everything through Signals. I still purchased every subsequent new album and found them to be enjoyable, but many of the songs didn't move me as much as their older work. It wasn't until the late 90's/early 2000's when they began adding material from the late 80's/ mid 90's live that I truly "got it". Seeing and hearing the complexity of these songs live made me want to revisit those albums. I was a little surprised that several songs from that era have become some of my very favorites. Between the Wheels, Hold Your Fire, Mission, Middletown Dreams, Manhattan Project, etc have come to have the same emotional hook that their "good songs" have.
