Soundcard (interface) as a headphone amp?

Hey all! Im going to be practicing in some smaller quieter rooms and places in the next few days and was wondering if I could just use my backup little PreSonus Interface as a headphone amp? It would not be powered by a computer though. It would be powering it through a little Halo Bolt battery and was wondering if I could use the preamps in the PreSonus to practice with?
The signal chain would look like this:

Bass > Pedalbord > Input o/ soundcard > out the headphone output on soundcard.

try that with your interface and see if it works. for some interfaces, direct monitoring doesn't require the interface to be connected to the computer, for some without a computer nothing works.

to be frank, this is a rather weird use case, so unlikely the manufacturer will mention it in the manual.
