Source Audio Soundblox Pro Multiwave Bass Distortion pedal question

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if the Source Audio fans can help me out with an easy question.

I recently got myself the Source Audio Manta Bass Filter pedal and LOVE it!
I haven't had a lot of time at all lately to mess with it, but again, I really dig it.

A Soundblox Pro Multiwave Bass Distortion pedal popped up used for a decent price. I know how rare these are to find used.

Is this going to duplicate most of the drive sounds I could dial in on the Manta pedal?
It seems like most of the drive sounds on the Manta are accompanied by envelope filters or some other phasing or something. Or have I just not spent enough time with it to dial in the drive without the phasing and envelopes?
Is it a bad idea to grab the Multiwave Distortion pedal since I have the Manta? Or do they compliment each other?

I guess my main question is...will it be giving me the same distortion sounds without the filter? And are those distortion sounds from the Multiwave Distortion pedal achievable on the Manta?

I just really love the Manta, and if I'm able to get sounds out of the Multiwave Distortion pedal I can't get from the Manta I think I'll go for it.

Thoughts, opinions and advice all much appreciated!!

You get a lot more control over the distortion sounds with the MWBD Pro, and I'm sure it has some unique sounds that the Manta doesn't.

Never owned the MWBD Pro but the Manta is a staple on my board and has been ever since it came out (and before that I was using the Bass Envelope Filter Pro )

I don't own the Manta, but I know it doesn't have the number of distortion sounds and control you have with the MWDB Pro. If I didn't already have a MWBD Pro, I would grab that thing

The Multiwave Pro can create many, many more distortion tones than the Manta.
100% of the power of the processor is focused on the distortion circuits.
In Manta only about 10% of the processor power is focused on the distortions.
I think the Pro is also much easier to use since you have so many controls right there in front of you vs Manta where the drive controls are harder to reach.

With that said, Manta is great for what it does. Having the distortion embedded inside the envelope pedal is the best place for it to be so that the filter can trigger off the clean signal.

I can't see how you can go wrong with both is you can get the Multiwave for a good price.

I love the Manta so much I went ahead and got it, but I had the choice between the older Multiwave Pro and the newer Soundblox 2 both were used but in great shape. I went with the Soundblox 2. Hope that was the better choice. I know I'll love it either way!

The sounds between SB2 and sbpro are the same. Good choice!
