I just purchased a super cheap Squier Affinity P bass as a modding platform. I'm eagerly awaiting for it to arrive from the big brown truck in a few days. So, where do I order a Fender decal for the headstock? JUST KIDDING!!! Put your torches and pitchforks away.
I'm probably going to upgrade the neck in the future to something a bit better (unless I end up being pleasantly surprised and the Affinity neck has nice fretwork). I'm leaning most towards a Warmoth slim tapered P neck, as these have the closest dimensions to the current MIM P neck (which I prefer dimension-wise to the MIA P neck; it's slightly thinner front to back). Looks like I'd be spending $285 for the options I want from Warmoth: roasted maple unfinished, slim taper, graphtech nut. Is there someplace else I should be looking for a replacement neck for a similar or lower price? I've already ruled out Mighty Mite as they are too thick front to back. Thanks!
