Squier Classic Vibe 60s P bass

First time poster here, hello every one! I had the fiesta red one, sorry I sold it now. Bought a new classic vibe bass recently off eBay. I bought it because I know Squire no longer makes these, either the Jazz or the P Bass like I had. I could only find the jazz in Inca silver which looks killer and is also better than the American Pro Jazz that I compared it to at GC. When I bought the Squire Classic Vibe P bass I also compared it to everything in the store including the American made versions and preferred it. If you have this, keep it! If not then buy it. BTW, I like the Jazz even better but still want my P bass back. Hope this helps. Money was not an object when buying these btw.

If you feell satisfied with everything stock, don't modified it, better find a matching string for your P vibe.

I swap the stock pup on my CV p because the stock pup soUnd thin on G string, over power on A string even how I adjust the pickup height. The fender PV 63 solve the problem and I love the tone.
Later I swap the himass bridge to fender vintage threatsaddle bridge because I cant set the action lower than 1.6mm on G string saddle. And the fender vintage bridge give me more organic p vibe than punchy-bite tone on stock himass bridge.

I Hav3 no complaint with the tuning mechine and electronic. But I swap the stock pot to CTS 250k pot along with cloths wire and .1uf cap. I found the stock pot turn better smooth than expensive CTS pot.

I use Ti flat on my CV p currently, with around 60% tone value, I found my sweet P vibe.

I’ve had 5. It finally dawned on me that I should stop buying and selling them off. I always made a profit but realized I missed them and preferred them over The basses I replaced them with.

This is my 2nd one is Fiesta Red and it’s a keeper for sure. I prefer to keep mine stock minus the tug bar and adding a set of well broken in TI flats .

These basses are slowly rising in price on the used market. The Classic Vibe 60’s P gives me all the Jamerson / Carol Kaye/ Pino Vibe I need at a great budget price!!
It adds something different to my bass collection and holds its own with my more expensive basses.

Mine is stock. I bought it used. My first impressions were of the great feeling shallow, wide neck profile. I was also surprised to learn recently that it is a 9.5 radius, so it does depart from a vintage in that way, but I really like it, and would want a 9.5 for all my Fender basses (as they are doing now on the Professional and Vintage Original series).

Sound-wise, even though I only play through a modest practice amp, when I plugged it in I instantly got that classic Precision sound. I found one after reading all the positive reviews. It's my first P-bass, so I don't have anything to compare it to. All I can say is that I'm very pleased with it.

I had one in that color ( happens to be my favorite bass color ). Decided to sell it and find another fiesta red because I couldn’t get used to the bridge cover as I like to palm mute. I also prefer the bridge with brass saddles.
Worked out in my favor as MusicMan came out with their own fantastic bass in that color.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've traded my Epi Thunderbird for a red 60s Classic Vibe Precision, it should be here tomorrow or the next day (a friend is delivering the basses between parties)...I've never been happy with the Thunderbird. It's a good bass but I've come to the realization that Gibson basses aren't my bag.

I look forward to getting my hands on the Precision bass.

I heard the screw holes for the bridge aren't the same as standard Fenders. Did you need to drill new holes?

I caught and released one of these. It was fine, I didn’t like how the pickup was a little noisy compared to other P’s I owned at the time and got rid of it (certainly something that could be fixed easily by someone who cares to do so). It was really only noticeable through headphones and with my probably bad technique. But that’s how I play most of the time. I wish they were still a part of the Squier line, I’m pretty sure everyone wants a Fiesta Red or a Sonic Blue P bass in their collection. I can’t really hang with the current block in-lay 70s version they have available now.

Do these come stock with an ashtray bridge cover? I know the CV 70s P basses do. I think I may be getting one of these (60s or 70s) soon. Also, what exactly is the difference between the CV 60s P and the CV 70s P? Thanks for any input on this. It would really help me with my decision!
