Squier Precision Affinity new model 2021 - Unboxing

This new affinity finally got correct headstock shape/size as Regular Fender headstock.
Been play a new china made Affy jaguar H couple week ago, overall build quality and fretwork has improve , hopefully this new indo made Affinity PJ bass has similar or better QC to previous Indo VM PJ.

Hopefully FMIC not just increase the price tag year by year, don't for get improve the product quality too.

I can already anticipate that squier with this new series has made a big leap in quality and that this bass is amazing me a lot both for the build quality and for the sound. Soon I will publish the review and the sound test on my channel and later also a direct comparison with the american performer pj!

Agree with @Yahboy on all counts. I was gonna start a new thread on these new 2021 Affinity basses because I’m geniunely excited after having tried the Affinity Jaguar H at a local shop.
I love the all-maple neck, it was covered in satin poly; and the headstock is covered in gloss! Looks really premium.

The correct headstock shape and improved “Precision Bass,” “Jazz Bass,” and “Jaguar Bass” logo is another plus. Reminds me of the American Performers.

I also own the american performer and the new affinity looks very similar but i noticed the squier body is a bit bigger. However, as soon as possible I will make a video comparison between the two basses with a sound test

Please do! I’m eyeing this exact Affinity PJ as a backup to my Sterling. Looks really nice.

How thin is the Affinity body compared to the Am Performer?

Saw an affinity Jaguar H in guitar center today and was really impressed with the build quality on a $250 guitar. The initial laurel was also much darker and less grey than I have seen in the past. Didn’t plug it in to comment on the pickup. Is the pickup the standard musicman size humbucker? If that’s an easy upgrade then this could be a cool start for an upgrade.

I had an OLD Affinity P-neck sitting around, and I put it on a parts P. After I did some fretwork, it's pretty luxurious. Still needs new tuners. The new Affinity stuff looks like an improvement over the old.

I keep looking covetously at the Jaguar Bass, for reasons I don't understand, because none of the demos I've seen sound great. But I've been wanting a 32" bass for quite a while, and the colorway reminds me of a 20th Anniversary Affinity I once owned, with the silver body and black pickguard. It would look so cool if I put a MM-style pickup with giant silver pole pieces on it, and black tuners and a black bridge. It's not how you sound, it's how you look!

Same here, that’s why I’m now seriously looking into these new 2021 Affinity basses. I was wowed by the neck of the Jaguar H I saw.

Pickup should be a standard MM style and size.

The Performer has a slimmer, leaner body and weighs less than the Squier. He is not as light and thin as they say unfortunately ...
Great! I actually like what you just described. I don’t want my bass to feel “thin” or “flimsy.”
As is the case with my 2020 Squier CV 60s Precision, it plays excellently but the body feels too light. No neck dive, but the body just feels…hollow.

You know the ballpark weight of the Affinity?

After watch the demo from Fender side, I found that Indian laurel fretboard shown as dark as rosewood !

Dang, looks like everything is great about these except the pickups! That jaguar looks so dope! But the pickups on all of these sound really frail. Besides that, they look pretty great all around.

Dude really needs to raise his strings. Hahaha. He's choking out almost every note. Haha

The body edge on Squier Affy PJ look less round-smooth as Performer PJ. More notable on lower horn side.

Off topic.
Few days ago, there are Squier late 50 CV pbass appear on Chicago music. The bass has maple fretboard neck.
Since this 2021 Affy PJ are made in Indonesia , unlike jaguar H from China.

Dare me to guess , if the late 50 CV P are real and made in Indonesia, I believe it could be combination of CV60/70p body + Affy maple fretboard neck.
Yah, more profit to FMIC .
Just like what happened in past, rebranding the squire VM to new CV with nothing improve( can't match the China CV quality ) but price increase.
