Squier VM Jazz 5 gig bag

I bought a Crossrock CRDG105E hybrid gig bag that I like a lot for my electric guitars (enough padding, lightweight, relatively small, big front pocket, inexpensive).
I went to buy the same bag for my Squier VM Jazz 5 but to my surprise it was not fitting well at all, headstock to much squeezed in the bag. Tried a Jazz 4 and fitted perfectly but no luck with the Jazz 5.

Any hybrid gig bag to recommend for a Jazz 5? I don't know if Squires are longer than Fenders.

Want good protection but not to the point to drop the bass from the 3rd floor, large front pocket (space for Airturn go stand), not too big, hybrid (ABS insert sandwiched in foam), 25-30mm padding, not too expensive (it's a Squier after all), looking for RBX but may stretch to Mono M80/RB Continental if nothing else (Protec Contego doesn't fit).

Any other suggestion? I have to order online so noway to check if my bass fits.

I only own 4 string basses, but my guess is your 5 string should fit because there's a bit of room at the headstock in the case, and in the question and answer section on Amazon someone does mention that it will fit most 4 and 5 string basses. I've had 4 string P's and J's and they both fit great.

I really like this case over both regular gig bags and hardshell cases. What I hate about gig bags is, I'm tall, and if I have the bag on me like a backpack, sooner then later I'll go through a door and bang the top of the bag/headstock on the top of the door frame and inevitably bend a tuning peg without fail. Hardshell cases are cumbersome and clunky and you can't strap them to your back. With the SKB case you can have it on your back, not have to worry about damaging the headstock or a tuner, and have that hand freed up to carry something else. Plus the case is feather light. For touring I wouldn't recommend it, but for the guy who plays locally say, on the weekends, jams, etc., I think it's a great case. I can fit my sheet music, tuner pedal, power supply, collapsable music stand and cables in the case's pockets and have the bass on my back and Fender Rumble 500 in one hand and only have to make one trip. Also quite a bit cheaper than Mono and Reunion Blues bags.

Thanks but it will not fit my Jazz 5 which is 47.25" long and SKB case interior is 46.5".

It will fit. My VM/Affinity hybrid Jazz-V is currently residing in my SKB soft case. Not only does it fit, there's a little extra wiggle room from end-to-end. So, even if your stock VM Jazz-V is a touch longer in the body, it should fit like a dream.

If you were to get one from Guitar Center, you can always bring it back within 45 days for a full refund. Also, if they're emailing out those "15% Off One Single Item" coupons (as long as it's not of the "must be over $199" flavor), you can knock the price down from $110 to about $94. I've bought three, different SKB cases and I've never paid full price for any of them.

I will have a look. Sadly I'm in Canada so no Guitar Center and limited offering in online stores :-(
Even Long&McQuade (our biggest chain) has limited offer also.
