Hi all,

I’m modding a bass to have 2 pickups, but I like the look of 2 knobs, so I’m thinking I’ll use stacked pots. When looking for parts online, however, it seems they’re all 250/500. Why aren’t they both 250k? I’ve typically seen FSO type basses use 250k for volume & tone.

The other route I’m considering is to use a blend pot, and a push/pull tone pot where the “pulled” position would be a kill switch, rather than a volume pot at all.

Side note: anyone have recommendations on where to source these stacked pots at a discount? $15ea is a touch steep.

These are available 250KA/250KA if you do not mind slight different look which won’t show anyway.
I’ve been using these with great success in both 250k and 500k versions. also available on Amazon. They are a bit small and terminals are tightly spaced - fat fingers and old eyes be damned…!

There is also this style from Alpha that I haven’t tried, though they look a bit more robust than the small square-shaped ones posted above.
