Standby Switch on Tube PowerAmp

I just bought an Aguilar DB 728.This is my first tube power amp.Im pretty sure I know how to use the standby switch but just want to confirm it with you tube experts.
Should I just have it in standby on powerup?
Do I put it back in standby before I turn it off?I heard something about cathode poisening.Didnt know you could poisen an amp.
Heh.The Aguilar is really built like a tank and it has a 10 year warrenty.I move my equipment around in the front seat of my pickup.Its got really stiff suspension because its lifted.Is this bad on the amp if I drive down a bumpy road?I heard that tube amps can be rather delicate.I guess I could have asked aguilar all this stuff but this is faster

This is the procedure I've seen recommended at least 90% of the time with tube amps.

ON-turn power on with amp on standby. Let it sit in standby for 30 seconds or so, then flip the standby switch. This allows the heaters in the tube to warm the tube up before current is applied across the tube.

OFF-turn the amp off with the power switch. Do NOT turn it on standby first. Just turn it off.

When I bought my tube amp,they said it should always ride in the cab of my pickup bacause truck cabs have better suspension than the bed does.Sounds like you may want to suppliment the seat with some foam or something.just guessing-I'm not a tech.
