Hi!
I own a Fender Precision Bass
(60th Anniversary Edition)
New pickups were recently installed, Aguilar AG4P60.
Sounds great but I have 2 problems:
1- Got a static problem..
At first, there was a static noise when I was rubbing the front of the bass (on the pickguard).
So we sanded the pickguard and the noise stopped.
But when I rub the back of the bass behind the pickups, there is still a very noisy static cracking sound while rubbing the bass body..
Anyone experienced this before? Could it be because of the nitrocellulose lacquer?
My bass is 100% grounded.
2- Second problem is that when the Tone knob is open, there is always a buzzing annoying sound and it stops when I mute or touch the strings or bridge etc. The sound is louder since we changed pickups. If I touch the pickup, it buzzes though my bass is 100% sure grounded.
I've read that copper shielding could solve the problem? Next time I go see my luthier we'll add this for sure and we'll see
Any thoughts or solutions please?
