I've had and have both. They are 2 different basses in sound and feel. A lot of the choice depends on what your after. The Steinbergers are pretty bullet proof- no trus rod, consistent clear sound, pivot plate is cool.
The Streamline is excellent also, Rob can build it how you want it- 34" or 32" scale, any type of pickup set up you can imagine, and every finish under the sun available. Steinbergers that are in good shape are more expensive than a Streamline build from Rob. You have a fun choice/endeavor ahead of you. Enjoy the trip!!

The string spacing on L-series Steinbergers is too narrow for me at 17mm. I didn't measure my Streamline but it felt normal, like 19-20mm. The Status had great feel and balance, in fact it was the best headless I've ever had. I liked it better than a couple of Steinbergers and a couple of David King headless basses that I owned.

I have a headless Status Stealth that's just incredible. The body is a more conventional shape than the Streamline which I find to be a bit more comfortable than the Steinberger oar shape when standing. It's very compact and lightweight with astonishing workmanship and very flexible controls. Definitely a keeper!

I had a custom Status, it was unplayable and returned immediately. The fret beveling extended to under the string so when you fretted a note the string would slide off the fingerboard. The frets were also unfinished with flat tops and grind marks. I was a fan for years based on playing other ones but the one I was shipped sucked and weighed a ton.

Hey, how do you like that wireless system? Have you ever used it with pedals?
Xvive Audio U2 Digital Wireless Guitar System
Charges pretty quickly and sounds Ok but it does not work well in areas with heavy Wi-Fi use! There are much better choices out there for a wireless if you want a VERY reliable/high quality sound for your gigs, performances, etc but they are way more expensive. I feel that the Xvive clouds my tone a bit. Also, every once in a while there are small interruptions in the sound, so I definitely don't recommend it for recording or to use it with pedals. It also interferes sometimes with bluetooth. I guess you get what you pay for... It's great for practice IMO.
