Sterling by Music Man pickup in series mode for Ray34

Hello everyone,

This is going to be my first post. So I've had my Sterling by Music Man SB14 now for about 7 years and I still love the sound of the pickup in series mode (the position where the switch points to the neck). I never use the parallel mode or the mode in the middle.
I bought a Sterling Ray34 last summer hoping that I would somehow modify the pickup to series mode in order to get a similiar sound as my SB14 in series mode.

But now when reading about it online, it seems very complicated for me. I'm really confused on this. I am completely new to this field as I've never bought a pickup or installed one to a bass.

I'm even thinking of buying another pickup to replace the Ray34 pickup if the modification is not possible (or is too complicated for me). But this is confusing me as well. How can I know if the pickup is wired in series or parallel mode or is it something that I can do myself when installing the pickup to the bass? I've been looking into these pickups for example:
EMG MMTW, EMG MMCS, EMG MM-HZ, and Seymour Duncan SMB-4A

So I guess the final question is: what would be a good and fairly easy way to achieve the SB14 "series mode sound" or something really similiar with the Ray34?
