I'm on the verge of ditching my SansAmp BDDI v2 (for live & studio)...
I'm so happy with the onboard pre-amp of my new Stingray5 30th Anniversary that I struggle to find any add value to the SansAmp (I own a Radial JDI).
I used to like it and it used to be always on when I was playing my VB Fender Jazz V but now whatever settings I use I feel it's doing my Stingray5 more harm than good.

Any thoughts?

It depends.
With just the bass preamp or a DI, you don't have any kind of cab simulation. If you don't need it, ditch everything and use just your SR.
My suggestion would be to use a preamp with cab sim, it's always useful to have it imho.
