Storing your guitars.. stands or cases?

I have a case or heavy-duty gig bag for each of my three Basses. I had 2 single stands but when I got *last week) my new Jazz Bass, I wanted to get a stand that would hold all three. Something that is easier than getting the guitars out of the cases each time. The cases are (for me) just for travel.
I ordered a three-guitar stand from Amazon for $21 bucks. The gooded and sent me a 7 guitar stand, I looked it up and saved $5 on their goof.

Anyway. The stand took some time to put together because there were no instructions and about 50 parts and screws.

The thing works but it is on the cheaper side of quality.

So my question is ... How do you store your playthings ???????

The two basses I gig with pretty much stay in their cases when they're not out on a gig. My two practice basses (one tuned to E , the other to Eb) stay on stands in my computer room. The guitars that I don't play much anymore stay in their cases.

I don't like the racks where they are exposed to people kicking and leaning and killing them.

But I love the guitar boat!

I have others on stands for quick access and ones I'm not using go back in cases or bags for storage. I play several different basses each day and decide which 1 or 2 to take with me that night, often a last minute decision.

I am constantly moving basses from my rehearsal space to my practice room and then out to various gigs and outside rehearsals. So mostly they are scattered around on stands and I grab them to use them in whatever room I want to use them in. There's only one in a case right now, but two others that I don't play much lately are on wall hangers. I will probably put one of them in its case soon so that I can free up that space for something I play more frequently. Ultimately the ones that aren't getting played are going to be sold but I'm transitioning to five strings and not sure if I want to keep a few fours around.

Cool /// I just checked the price on these inclosed stands ... they start off just above $100 and go up from there. I must say they do look stronger and safer than the simple racks... I may get one down the road !

Cases on a rack I built. My tech said that if he caught me with a wall hanger he'd fire me.

Mini-humidifiers are supposed to help keep the wood in good shape. I've got some old prescription bottles and sponges saved for this. Now I need to get off my butt and do it.
