I really like my Ibanez Artcore AGB140. I recently installed an Ibanez PFR pickup in it and the sound and playability have really impressed me, except for the way that it hangs, with first position causing a bit of a reach. I had previously addressed this issue on my Danelectro '64 thusly.....
Dunlop straploks add a bit of length, and I cut down an air compressor fitting to add a bit more, with a longer screw.
For the Ibanez, a different approach was called for. I added a second dunlop button on the neck heel, giving me two points of contact.
I ground a nut on a bevel to get the angle of the dangle close. That and a washer, brought the two buttons level.
I was able to improve their angles after this pic so as to enable adding the extension.
Here it is installed. The Dunlop straploks means it easily goes on and off. This is needed to fit in the case.
I love working on my jazz basses, an extra plate comes in handy
It does the trick. I'll play with it some and decide whether to remove the nut and washer from the heel button, and use a dunlop recessed button on the body so as to move the plate closer to the bass.
