Can the string spacing be adjusted on Ibanez Monorail IV bridge?
Ibanez parts catalog

The same question about Ibanez Mono-Rail V bridge. I can see one at the drumsetc.com: Ibanez Mono-Rail V Bass Bridge GD 2BB4ACE003

There is very little info about these bridges. I tried contacting Ibanez but still no replies from them.
Also, I'm looking at the Hipshot Solo - Single String Bass Bridge. According to their description the string spacing can be adjusted: Solo™ - Single String Bass Bridge
But i'm not sure if this will fit to my bass. I have Ibanez BTB1606 - see avatar please.
Any information is valuable and appreciated.
Thank you all.

Yes, string spacing will change according to where you install the single bridge pieces, as in the distance between them, only limited by how close they can be installed next to each other by the wideness of each individual bridge piece.

The Ibanez saddles are recessed into the body so you can't change the spacing.

The Hipshot saddles are not designed to be recessed so they won't fit unless you filled in those gaps.

By looking at my Ibanez i do not see that the bridge is recessed into the body. I may be wrong, but visually it is not. Thank you, Art.

Your BTB1606 has the Mono Rail IV bridges. The same bridges I have on my BTB7. The MR IV bridge saddle doesn't have sideways movement settings, so it doesn't support variable string spacing.

The next iteration of Ibanez Mono Rail bridge, the MR V bridge, also doesn't have sideways movement settings on its saddle. So the string spacing is fixed according how they were installed. And yes, one poster has correctly mentioned, they are indeed installed counter sunk. You can confirm this by removing one of them from your BTB. I've done it when I swapped the stock MR IV Cosmo Black finish bridges on my BTB7 with some MR V bridges with gold finish.

The latest model, the MR5s, is the one that has saddle with sideways movement settings, thus string spacing could be set wider or narrower though only a tad (+/- 1.5 mm).

Anyhow, the MR bridges aren't interchangeable (maybe with the exception between the MR V and the MR5s). Not even with Hipshot's. You could not just swap the MR IV bridges on your BTB with MR V (nor MR5s). They have different dimensions. And the fact that they were installed counter sunk made the swapping process more undesirable.

Thanks a lot. I could not find the MR5s and thought maybe the Hipshot will fit. I think the Ibanez does not sell the newest bridges even in their store.

Could you please let me know where did you buy MR V bridges? Is this the one - please see link below?
