Strings for a Greg Bennett Corsair MCR-1 sub-short scale bass

I have a Greg Bennett Corsair MCR-1 sub-short scale bass that I wanted to sell on Craigslist. One guy called me about it and was all set to come look at it, but then he texted me and said that after getting advice he decided that if he ever needed or wanted to change strings it would be hard or impossible to find strings that would work. I know virtually nothing about string tension and other factors about matching strings to scale lengths. I would like to know what the issues are and whether there are strings for 30" short scale basses in the various types of windings that would work on a bass with a 25.6" scale length. The only metal core strings I know of that are specifically made for basses this short are MBLS MicroBass LaBella Flat Wound Strings MBLS MicroBass LaBella Flat Wound Strings. I wonder what brand and model of round wound strings are on it now, but I don't know how to tell. Are there other strings that can be put on this bass?

Depending on the tuning posts and whether you can live with very light tension, you can try using untapered light sets (with, say, a low E string that's no fatter than .095" so that it doesn't break at the post, by virtue of its inherent flexibility, as well as the reduced scale hence tension).

You can also order custom winding length sets from Newtone and Pyramid.

Finally, you can carefully unravel large strings to length (better if secured from unravelling further, between post and nut, with solder or a sleeve of heat-shrink tubing).
