Stupid question but worth a shot.

Long story short I've always wanted a gibson ripper just for that sound and tone, sadly due to finances I can't afford one. However a set of Seymour duncan ripper pick ups have come under my radar and I'm thinking of installing them in a spare bass I own. How ever this spare bass is a P/J set up. Is it possible to some how fit different sized pick ups????

You'd have to rout the pickup holes to fit the bigger pickups. If you don't have the tools or experience to do this, I'd suggest finding someone who could do it properly for you. Good luck.

Pick up location is very important also.

If you do this, make sure you use the measurements from the Ripper.
