I have a new Fender Player Mustang PJ bass and I have a set of EMG Geezer Butler pickups on the way to install replacing the stock pickups. I am looking for someone who has done this successfully to see if there were any installation issues. Note that I have purchased the EMG switch to replace the toggle and their Buss for proper connections. Has anyone else gone this route?

I was able to do this upgrade with just a little creativity. The Buss that EMG provided fits between the tone and volume pots. I had to remove the hook & loop from the bottom of it. Other than that, the install was straight forward.

I'm waiting for a set of EMG PJHZ pickups to arrive tomorrow and just now remembered the toggle switch. EMG includes the bus in the PJHZ set too. Did you purchase an EMG solderless toggle switch? I don't see one included in the PJHZ parts list.
I purchased their American built toggle switch with solderless connection and I am pretty sure you will be receiving a ground buss, but you will need the buss that is designed to work with the switch. (B245)

Thank you. You're right that EMG includes the B245 Buss with the set. And that's good otherwise I'd be scratching my head about the toggle switch. Good to know the B348 North American switch worked for you. I was leaning that way based on just appearance vs the B289 EMG switch. So time to place another order.

Finished EMG installation today. As was stated, making the solderless connections is straightforward for the most part. Three-way toggle harness purchased on Reverb works well. It helped keep the wires neat but the thick sheathing congests the control plate cavity, esp since the buss lives between the pots. The sheathing can be removed but I didn't. The hardest part was stuffing the wires into the given space. Otherwise, the EMGs sound nice than I expected and will be keeping them.

Hi everyone,
I am installing a PJ GZR set with 3 Post Toggle Switch with MASTER VOL+MASTER TONE configuration but I'm not too sure on how to proceed.

Now, this is the situation:
- split coil connected to B245D :
- single connected to B245D ;
- output from the B245D to Master Volume;
- Master Volume connected to Master Tone;
- Master Tone connected to Output.

The questions are:
1) the 3 Post Toggle Switch needs to be connected to the central pins of B245D buss, is this correct?
2) In the GZR set I found a ground buss. The EMG manual wants to connect the ground from it to neck volume but I have only a Master voume. So, I have to connect to this buss, beside the green cable from the single coil and single-ended ground wire and also the black cable from the ground of Master Volume, is this correct?
3) With this configuration, I have a B245D buss (between switch and pickups) and the ground buss in the same time, is this correct?

Thanks a lot for ridding me from this empasse!
