Suggestions for short-scale, roundwound set with E heavier than 110

The title pretty much says it all...looking for a short-scale set of roundwounds with an E string that is heavier than 110. I'm not interested in flatwounds, half-rounds etc.

I like La Bella's Deep Talkin' Bass, but 110 is as heavy as they go from what I can tell.

TIA for any guidance.

Ok...

None of their pre-packaged sets are going to be "balanced"

You can order a full 4-string set using any gauges you would like.

I guess that the pertinent terminology must have changed over the past 25 years. Nevermind.

I know what I can do. At least when it comes to basses, strings and stuff like that...;)

My question was in reference to a *set* that would come with an E string that's heavier than 110. That's all.

None of them in "Pre-Packaged" sets come with a string larger than a .110.

The manufacturer (La Bella) you are referring to makes everything to order. So unless a dealer orders it, they do not have it on the shelf ready to go...

Their heaviest "Pre Packaged Set" is the M50L which is 50-105.

You can make a set .050 .070 .090 .110 in Short Scale... or even .055 .075 .095 .115

La Bella will direct you to a dealer since they do not sell directly. They usually send you to their dealer that does the most custom orders and also stocks many "custom short scale" sets.

Now this is *exactly* the type of info that I was looking for. Thank you.

I was hoping not to have to take that route. Oh well. Thanks nevertheless.

Mmmm boy. Jason what can I say?
:meh:

Something helpful and productive on the subject matter would be appreciated.

Due to the forum TOS I can not be more specific unless I am asked directly.

The heaviest Short Scale Pre-Packaged set I am aware of is the GHS Boomers (but its nickel) 50-107

The last sentence in my previous post was not directed towards you, but to the other forum member whose post I've quoted directly above it. Thanks for all the info that you've provided so far.

Deep Talkin' Bass comes in 44-110 and that was my starting point, since I'm really not all that concerned about the G string gauge...anything above 40 will work just fine.

Back to the square one I guess...

Yes. However the "Deep Talkin" series is made to a different spec than the Stainless sets. I apologize, I figured since you wanted a higher gauge I figured you wanted a higher tension string as well.

So yes. Pre-Packged the Deep Talkin Round has a .110

It is available in Short, Medium, Long and Extra Long scale.

Wish I could say I had the 760RM-S in stock :-/ Probably wont see more until December.

No sweat, the bass that these strings should be going on is headed to the shop next week, which will give me more than sufficient time to mull over what I *really* want to do, and you'll likely hear from me once I have a clear picture in my head.

Thanks again for the time taken to reply , and the good will shown in this thread.
