hi ...I'm considering tape wounds for a MIJ '84-'87 p-bass...probably the D'addario 50-105 set as it is closest in gauge to the (unknown) rounds that are on it now...anyone know if there are issues in getting the ball end part of the string (the last inch or so) through the bridge hole .....thought I read somewhere the nylon overwrap plus silk might make them too big at the ball end

Oh the blue thread. I think it'll still be fine. You might have to yank it through but it should go.

The only potential issue is the blue sitting on the saddle.

..great looking basses gsgbass!...thanks for the info...I guess if I thought it through, Daddario wouldn't make strings that would not fit a common bridge....sort of a "duh-oh" moment I had, well after posting :banghead:

On any bass I've strung with ETB92 Nylons, I never had a problem with having to do any re-setups either.

great...I have ordered a set and will post pics....it is for a friends bass....MIJ P-bass, Pewter with all black hardware, gloss black headstock, rosewood FB....so it will look good as well as sound good......just no liking the coloured ball ends....they should all be the black or maybe gold colour

The colored ball ends work out great for a sure, quick no guess for what string is what. They help in dark backstage restrings as well.
