TC Electronics RH450 Amp Knob Replacements.... SOLVED!!!!!!

I purchased a new TC Electronics RH450 amp 2 years ago and the knobs broke off in the first 2 months (used it 6 times). Ever since then I contacted TC Electronics dozens of times and never got a response, they suck to say the least. As I searched all over the internet it seems that these knobs are defective and finding replacements that fit was impossible. Finally, I found a guy in Romainia (I am from the US) that makes replacements that are better than the original and the fact that you can pick a custom color and they are larger makes them 10 times better and easy to see. They cost around $30.00 (incl. shipping from Romainia), they actually delivered weeks before the scheduled delivery date. You can find them here:

I recommend this seller and this product 100%. ROCK ON!

If there's enough room, whether they're bad or not, I prefer chicken-head knobs, even color-coded so I can recognize what's what at-a-glance.

Doesn't look like there's enough room on there for those, though...

They are encoders, not pots. The LEDs around the encoders show you what position the knobs are in. I have lots of other gear, keyboards, midi controllers, digital mixers, that use encoders and they are perfect for devices that can utilize presets.

Deceptively large amount to unpack here IMO...

Experiencing product defects and customer service are not team sports. I had an RH450 from 2009 and an RH750 from 2012 to now. For quite a while, I was scratching my head at the reports of knobs falling off...until I wasn't. One day, my RH750 slid backwards from where it was sitting and dropped a very short distance (maybe half the height of the amp) onto a shelf lip across the bottom of all of the knobs. After that most of the knobs became loose. I looked and found that it was easy to see that the friction fit "teeth" or "fins" (for lack of the actual name) were poorly thought out coming to a very thin point that held fine until bent or broken off, which it didn't take much to bend or break them. There was now no mystery as to why the knobs would loosen. TCE (pre-Music Tribe) immediately sent a new set of knobs with a corrected design. This wasn't a warranty matter and there was no cost. That was simply the right thing to do because they were aware of the problem that the knob design caused.

Left, old - thin tips Right, new - rounded tips

That they have apparently kept using the original design knobs on some units is something I can't understand, so I'm back to scratching my head.

That said, the suggested knobs are (in the kindest words possible) not for everyone.

Another thing...having a problem 2 months into owning a new amp, I can't help but put some blame on the buyer for letting it go unresolved. I guess I'm just unfair like that.

Interesting point about someone's first and only post being to promote these knobs.
