Tech 21 VT Bass Deluxe

I think so. I never used six different sounds, but it’s nice to have the option.
I have the VT Bass v2 too and sometimes someone (usually me...) turns the knobs mid song. At those occasions it would be convinient to have the original sound back with the push of a button...
That was kind of my thoughts. I'll most likely not completely utilize all of it's capabilities, but it would be nice to have those presets available.

Since it's my only real effect pedal (I have a compressor in front of mine) I'd say it's worth it. I have 5 small variations of my primary tone that I can mess with easily and one "goo" tone for some slow songs we do. I played around with my pedal for a couple of hours to set it up the way I wanted to a few years ago, but I really dislike messing with pedal knobs.

Don't have to anymore.

Quick question. Is it worth the extra $$ to spring for the deluxe? Thoughts.
I think it is. The thing I love about the programmable VT Bass, is that you set your tone, and now it's stored in the unit permanently. I use mine as my main tone- it's a preamp so you can show up to a gig that has backline, plug the VT into any amp's effects return and it bypasses the amp's front end; now you're only getting the tone of the VT- you're stored tone. Plus it sounds GREAT

Depends how much you want those dual inputs and fx loop. I would get the VTDI over the Deluxe personally. Especially if you're into warmer vintage tones, as you can switch of the normally baked-in presence boost with the bite switch, and you also have a blend control.

If you want to have different tones at the push of a button, then yes.

But I have moved away from the set-it-and-forget-it mentality. I like to be able to tweak a knob or two on the fly, and it keeps it fresh in my mind what all the knobs do. I switched from the Programmable BDDI to the VT Bass DI and I love it.

Like others here, I have used the VT Deluxe in front of every amp I've owned or used in a backline for the past 10 years (that a lot of amps).
The 6 presets (or using A/B inputs for 2 basses, 3 + 3) are wonderful and really come in handy. Its also a great piece of gear for fly dates/backline situations .. you always know how your bass will sound in FOH, and coming out of the amp (as long as the backline is reasonably functional).

If you think that you would really only use 1 tone shaping format, the VT Bass is an option. I would say that while I have 6 presets set up (basically 3 B15 tones and 3 SVT tones ... from clean to dirty), I do probably use the A1 (Clean B15) setting 75+% of the time.

great pedal, you can hardly go wrong.

how do you select the 6 presets with only one bass on the main input? My pedal only let my switch between inputs, and not banks.
