I was looking at the tube 15 watt Ashdown amp.
I had to find what a very low power Bass amp will sound.
After modding my small combo I now have a nice sounding studio amp.
I am having so much fun playing with this crazy head.
Show your very low power studio amp.

I change the filter capacitors to 6300uf at 50v and change the rectifier to a 25 amp unit.
I also put a better heat sink and a computer fan on the amp and output jack on the back of the case.
I ran this little amp on my full stack ( one 15 for the low and four snappy 10 inch for the kick.
This little amp will growl like a bear without shacking the house down like my big amps do.
The funny this is I think I can gig with this thing.

The stock caps 2200uf but with 6300uf the sound deep and clear at low volume.
This amp really sound thick at 9 o clock with my j bass i am pushing the power transformer hard and not the filter caps.
I am getting a soft fuzz and this make the sound thick.( a very nice thick sound)
Driving a 15 and 4 10 cabs how cool is that.
I wish my stomp box can do this with my big amps.
I think a 30 watt amp will scream with out busting the windows.
Low power amps can fool you.
