Thanks to jmattbassplaya for this idea. Let's give this a run and see how it goes.

This thread will be a place to swap gigs, share bills, find opening acts, etc. So if you'd like to swap gigs with another TBer, post them here.

Here's a few things that would make things a little easier:
1. Put a link to your band in your signature, so someone can readily see if your band would fit with theirs or the venue.
2. Make sure you have your location filled in your profile, so that people can readily see where you are from.
3. In your post, state whether you want to host an out of town band, or be a guest of another band and the town you are headed to. You should include locations, dates, and the genre of music in your post.
4. Once you've reached something with a band, please do your communication and logistics through PM.

Obviously, TB won't assume any responsibility or liability for what happens. So, if a fellow TBer drinks all the beer in your fridge or clogs up your toilet when they crash at your house, plays Grindcore on your acoustic folk showcase or the gui**** spills a drink on your rig, it's not on us. You should take all the same precautions as you would in any classified ad on TB or elsewhere.

With all that said, let's all help each other get our music out there and working.

Thanks again, Jive!

My rock band, Tame the Hurricane, is looking to do gig swaps with bands in neighboring major cities starting next January. We're located in Knoxville and are wanting to find gigs in Nashville, Chattanooga, Asheville, Atlanta, Athens, etc...

What we're essentially looking to do is to either open for or co-bill gigs with similar bands that can hook us up with a good gig, on a good night, while playing to a good audience. These are very important for us as we haven't had much luck in these regards in the past when playing out of town gigs. We can easily reciprocate the favor in Knoxville, and we could possibly even do it in Memphis, too, as a lot of us are from there. For more info, check us out at these links:

Atara is just getting off the ground in Columbia, SC.

We finally played our first show over this past weekend after almost 2 years of working to put it all together. If this thing gains enough traction locally over the next few months, we would be willing to explore a bit of gig swapping in the southeast to extend our reach into new markets.

Modern Rock is what we bill ourselves as, but there are enough twists and turns in our music that I'm not sure that description is accurate.

I realize it is a bit premature to talk details, but I'd like to get a few lines of communication open as we're fairly confident we'll be in position to reciprocate in the future.

Mojomatic is based in Asheville, NC. We play funky, bluesy, soulful stuff. We recently parted ways with a band member who did most of our booking, and who took the name we'd used for the last decade with him, so we're kinda back at square one on that front. Which means that even though we've got a ton of experience and cred, we're hungry! And interested in collaborating with anybody who can relate to what we do. Send me a PM if you're interested.

This thread is a great idea. I hope some of the UK membership start taking part. And Midlands TBers who'd like to work something up from a shared pub gig to a festival, let me know - no idea is too stupid. :D

Cool idea. I play in the original hard rock band Breakhouse. We're primarily located out of San Diego but play somewhat regularly in Los Angeles. No dates we're looking for at the moment but figured I would get our name on here for future reference.

Link to music and info in signature.

My band The Trash is based out of Dayton Ohio and we are looking to set up some shows in Indianapolis, Chicago, and St.Louis. We play straight up rock and roll with some throw backs to the 60's and 70's. Send me a PM if you can help us out or your looking to play in Dayton Ohio.

My band, buffalo buffalo buffalo is more than willing to help out any bands coming to Pittsburgh, PA. We also have a reasonably large house with at least 4 couches so we can help you out with a show as well as lodging if necessary. We're looking for weekend gigs in medium to large towns and cities within 300 miles of Pittsburgh (As far as Buffalo or Rochester to the north, Virginia to the south, Harrisburg/Baltimore/DC to the east, and Detroit/Louisville to the west.)

We are an original hard rock band looking to partner up with a similar band that may be coming through western NY and need a couple gigs. We have about a 45 minute set list right now of our own material and have a few places that we are able to book - but we need someone else to work with us. If you are coming through the area and need a gig, we can help with arrangements locally and get you a couple spots with us on a weekend. Looking to book late April through the summer. We have PA and light support, so no problem there. Mostly 2-400 seat type places, so nothing too big. We are not looking to make lots of money right now, so we will let you keep the pay after we pay our sound guy. If your band is interested, please PM me and we can exchange some demos and see if we can work out some dates. We just want to get some quality gigs in to get our name out there as we build our set list to the point we can fill 3+ hours on our own. We are experienced players that have all played in other bands, so this is a new project for us all.
Thanks,
Todd
PS: If you are a touring band coming through our area and need an opening act for a gig already booked we are available and would be happy to send you a demo. Again, not looking to make lots of money right now just want to get our name out there and gain a following before we go in the studio later this summer.

Hey guys, my band Throw The Temple is starting to expand our reach in the SW US area. We are original Alternative/Hard Rock that meshes well with anything from Blues Rock to Metal (maybe not Grindcore.. haha).

We are based in Albuquerque, NM and can usually set up a good show on a good night at a good venue with the right notice.

We'd love to swap gigs with anyone in AZ, CO, TX, even UT, NV, and CA. If you're somewhere further and think we can make something worth the drive, let us know, and if you're coming through our area, let me know and we'd love to help you out because we know tour booking can be tough.

Hey guys, kind of a long shot here, but my band Avenue Kings is looking for a show somewhere around NY, MD, DE or the likes for SATURDAY APRIL 27th 2013. We have a small weekend tour booked, but our Saturday evening date fell through. We are a three piece playing what we like to call "working class punk", heavily influenced by the Clash, Springsteen and Gaslight Anthem. We will play anywhere or open for anyone. We can return a show in the greater Philly region. Feel free to have a listen to our demo, linked in my sig and reply or PM if you can lend a hand. It would be hugely appreciated! Thanks.

I think I'm the only bass player in Carlisle. You'd think with their six fingers, there'd be more of 'em :)

Cracking idea for a thread. I'll pop in occasionally to see if there's anything flying in the desolate wastes of Northern England.

I'm with Finneus a cover/original rock band from Chicago. We're looking for a band from SW Michigan to open for our show June 21st in St. Joseph, roughly 45-50 minute set. Venue has good stage, lights, sound system.

Ideal band would mix it up a bit original/cover. Local draw helpful, but not necessary.

Some useful links to us for compatibility...

Quartus is looking for an opening act for our CD release party. Any Omaha or Lincoln bands interested? PM me.
