I have been a Fender dude for many years and done many a pickup swap on passive Fender J Basses wired VVT. That is why it was fascinating to peak into the guts of a passive Sandberg wired Volume - Blend - Tone. The work is so clean inside this cavity.
I am considering dropping a pair of Lindy Fralin 5% overwounds in this bass but for some reason I am intimidated by the way the pickups are soldered to the blend pot. I am not sure how to tell which wire from the pup is positive or negative as Sandberg very cleanly wraps them both in a sleeve as you can see in the pics.
There is also a black ground wire coming from each pickup and a ground from the tone pot to the ground screw located inside the cavity (3 ground wires to the ground screw in total. The Fralins do not have ground wires.
Any thoughts on this?
Thank you!
