Hi,mr.Nitti.I just watched Adam Nitti/The Renaissance Men: The Strut on youtube - congrats, very great playing and sounds,i would like to have opportunity to listen this particular band on live,but...anyway.
This particular red Ibanez sounds fantastic an it is five string one,i know that you do play mainly on six string basses,so there would be chance to see your signature five-string one soon?I saw that your ANB 1006 and 306 are available, but would be nice if at some point there would be some ANB1005 or 305,maybe?:)
Would you give some highlight about the specification of this one (mean red one you played with )?
And just one more question - any plans upload some of your whole shows (if you have any) to ?
Would be great to watch entire set.
Have a nice day.

I just watched the same vid, and the tone of that bass is unbelievable – like an über-refined Jazz bass. Of course, the playing is sparkling – beyond any mortal human art or craft. :^)

Adam, what pickups does this red bass have?
(This would be the one I'd personally buy, over the blue humbucker sig bass.)

hey guys, thank you SO MUCH for checking out the videos and also for your comments on the bass! that bass is a custom built SR that i had built that is my main bass when i'm doing most other projects. i love the comment "über-refined jazz bass!" that's exactly what i wanted to have. the pickup spacing is identical to a mid-70s jazz bass and the construction is very similar. the bass has a one-piece swamp ash body and a maple neck with maple fingerboard. pickups are bartolini jazz pickups mated to a bartolini NTMB preamp.

i have been petitioning strongly to try and get ibanez to release this bass, as i think it would be very successful as an offering would appeal to a wide variety of players. also, it would not be as expensive a release. if any of you are interested in this bass, i would humbly ask that you email or call ibanez and let them know you saw me play the bass and would be very interested in one. it was this type of interest among the internet community that originally influenced the development of my signature 6 string basses. i'm hoping a similar thing might happen with the 5 string!

Great idea. I think it would be good for Ibanez, too. Even their most Jazz-bass-y Nordstrand-loaded models don't sound as J as your red one. It could be the SRJ-AN-5. :^)
And they would have prepared promotional videos all ready for its marketing!

Not to detract from your personal esthetic choices, but if they slapped a pick-guard on that thing, and had some classic colours, + sunburst with tortoise-shell (maybe even a distressed/road-worn finish), they might have a chance with the legions of edgy young bands who normally wouldn't go near anything that doesn't say Fender. Even boutique brands like PRS are into _that_ game.

That's a great point, actually. Maybe if we can continue the conversation I will put those thoughts into the mix...

I have sent e-mail not long ago to Ibanez USA and they have said, that this bass unfortunately would not be in production yet,nor be in 2018 catalog, but i am agree with Mr.Nitti, that ..." if any of you are interested in this bass, i would humbly ask that you email or call ibanez and let them know you saw me play the bass and would be very interested in one. it was this type of interest among the internet community that originally influenced the development of my signature 6 string basses. i'm hoping a similar thing might happen with the 5 string!".
