Interestingly -- and somewhat amazingly -- Chris used that same Marshall amp on every Yes tour. It would always be augmented by some other amp(s) for his primary tone -- starting with Sunns, later Ampegs, there might have been some Fenders in there -- but his original Marshall Super Bass amp was always also onstage (or under the stage) because it was critical for getting his distinctive and idiosyncratic tones.

Frankly I am astonished that an old tube amp from the 1960s survived ~4 decades of world-wide touring, but I guess he had some roadies who knew how to handle it and how critical it was to keep it working.

Well lets face it - other than the chassis and box catching fire and melting there is nothing in one of the amps that cannot be repaired or replaced.

Dual Showman, correct? He was fond of using guitar amps early on if I recall - for example his Sunn was a Coliseum Lead head, not the bass head.
I bought a Sunn Concert Lead head to use with a 4x12 cab as a teen in the 70's, along with a Sound City 50w, and of course my 4001--trying to make my own little "Baby Squire rig";)
