This changes everything... maybe?

The new Mooer Preamp Live looks to me to have almost everything we've all been asking for from various effects pedal designers, at like 1/4 the cost of something like a Kemper. It has both a line and DI out, cab sim (IR), a full EQ+boost, a programmable effects loop, midi in/out, and this super interesting "tone capture" tool, which can apparently save 12 different profiles for immediate recall (see the video I've linked). The only thing(s) that i can think of that a bassist might want that doesn't already come built-in is an HPF and a compressor.

The only thing is that, like everything else Mooer does, it seems entirely marketed to the guitar crowd but I don't see why it wouldn't be a wonderful tool for us bassists. I'm trying to find the manual to get more details as to what amp presets come preloaded (they say there's 50 of them!). Have any of you seen one in the wild yet?

Have not seen this before but I've noticed "tone capture" or profiling features become more common lately. Was just pondering a program that would capture the EQ profile of a signal to be saved as a preset, then while browsing plugins I found multiple that do almost exactly that! But for different things like cabs or reverbs or actual EQ/frequency spectrums. Very interesting stuff, cool to see it in pedal format. Pretty crazy how far modeling/emulation has come.

I'm not familiar with Mooer products' quality or performance, but a "tone capture" pedal I like. Will be interested to see if its bass friendly
I've tried a bunch of them. The two choruses, phaser, analog echo, digital delay, octave, a whack load of the drives... All were pretty great, especially considering the price. I had been itching to try the Radar (cab sim) but now with this available, Im not sure I'd bother.

Anyway, all in all, I'd say that Mooer does quality stuff that seems built well (IME) and sounds pretty darn good.

I'm truly surprised that this isn't geneterating more interest! With all the folks who have complained about the GK Plex, the Sansamp Bass Fly Rig, etc... I'd have thought that ppl would be all over this.

I definitely think I'll give this guy a shot if a dealer nearby decides to start stocking it.

OK, so the Preamp Live arrived this afternoon. I will say that with the stock amps loaded, it sounds AMAZING on guitars. The clean stuff is real nice for bass. I'll try to dial in a clean tube amp on the edge of break up tomorrow, maybe. I say maybe because I'm about fifty miles east of the cone of Hurricane Michael, so I'm kinda dealing with the what if stuff there. So far, VERY happy with the purchase.

We'll be in for some nice breezy weather and a few T storms.
Maybe.

Friend of mine tours with a kemper and got one of these sent to him months ago. He gave it the thumbs up for guitar but he mainly uses it at home and still tours with the kemper.

How are you feeling about it now that you're a few months in?
