So I just got a G&L jb2 tribute. I have been playing an acoustic fretless with aforementioned strings. The round wounds on the G&l are killing my fingers, I don’t want to mess up an expensive set of strings by trying them out w/o some advice, any help would be appreciated thx.

If you play TIJFs on an acoustic fretless and like them, you'll like them on the G&L. You'll likely need to back off the truss rod a bit due to the lower tension.
