to buy a processor or not to buy a processor

I've been playing bass for about 2 months and i am starting lessons in about a week. I was wondering whether to buy a FX processor or not becuase i want to try out some different sounds and try to compose a little tune. So i can stay enthusiatic about bass and not get bogged down becuase i havent accomplished anything.

I would say go for it! I kept waiting to buy one and then I finally did, bought the Boss GT-6B box and it has sparked my interest tremendously. I'll admit I'm not the greatest player, but throwing on some effects and changing my sound a little here and there just gets me into it all that much more. Its fun. Just don't forget to keep trying new things, it sucks when you get bored of the same old thing, which is why its not a bad idea to get a processor.
