I have been looking at the used equipment market here in Canada over the past few years and it is getting difficult to sell anything at what I consider a fair price. So, I end up keeping equipment, bass guitars etc and not use the stuff. Then 6 months later I feel the need to check things out and try and sell, and same environment. Is this something others ha e noticed or am I just not taking the right approach using Kijiji and other sites???

Very cool. How do you handle shipping etc? Especially if it was something like an amp?
I'm very lucky that I've been able to use my company's shipping account and they just charged me (the discount is significant). I haven't shipped an amp yet, just basses and pedals. So far all my sales wound up going to the US.
By opening up your listing to US buyers you get a much higher chance of selling.

I do currently have an amp listed, but I haven't opened it to the US yet. It's been there over a month, so I've either overpriced it, or no-one in Canada is interested.

In Winnipeg , there is no choice. It's pretty much Long and McQuade or Quest Musique( a tiny Long and McQuade wannabee clone). L&Mc will stock mainly Traynor/Yorkville( not my cup of tea for either) . I've had to pay a LOT for Mesa's/Fender/ or GK anything. A band I was in used to end our final tune with .." Saturday night and we just got paid , takin' all of our money to Long and McQuade "! It's US prices + about $500.00 more for some greedy reason ..( and no it ain't the old "shipping costs !!" hogwash, because most of the major centers in Canada are very close to the US border.Detroit is across a friggin RIVER from Windsor Ontario..unless they canoe it across..

Yeah no kidding. It's like how a Sire bass that's $700 winds up being @$1100 - $1200 after duties and such. Free trade my ass!
