hi TBs
Can anyone tell me anything about this bass? I bought it from A guy, WHO Said it was A prototype from TE.
Anybody seen anything like it before.
It Sounds amasing, either like a stingray or A jazz on steroid.

Sounds intriguing. Pics?

Wow, that's fascinating! I happen to own a limited run Trace Elliot T-Bass but I haven't seen anything like that before. I don't think looks like his style (particularly with the wood pickup covers) but it would be worth sending a message over to Rob Green at Status Graphite to see if this had anything to do with him, as he was the builder for the T-basses.

As far as I'm aware Trace Elliot never had production facilities of their own (the T-basses were pretty much Status instruments that happened to have Trace Elliot on the headstock), so I wonder if this might have been made by someone TE approached before they brought in Rob in for the T-bass project...

Is there anything stamped on the back of the headstock, or anything to indicate what year it was made?

You know I'm starting to wonder if those wooden pickup covers might be a replacement for plastic originals. That seems like a weird thing to put on a prototype? That BAII doesn't look quite right on there either...

I'm struggling to tell with the reflections; is that a jack socket on the control plate or does it have some sort of cap on top? Maybe that plate came off something else, or they changed their mind halfway through production as to where they were going to put it. Curiouser and curiouser.

Well, the wodden covers ARE the pickups. They are kind of melted into the (plastic)wood.
The Jack is on the side. There is A swich, volumen, treble, mid, bass - No pickup blend....
