Ok ok, I really don't need one of these. I'm thinking about buying one to bring to my office and hook up to one of their small speakers. But they're so CUTE! LOL! Anyway, now being sold online on the 'bay....

I wonder if they'll have that legacy sound that Trace Elliot was famous for. I know a lot of people loved their tone, but this seems to be an entirely new animal from the ground up. When the new Peavey Class D's came out I really wanted to like them, but they sounded so flat compared to that 'colored' 80's sound I loved from the old 80's Peavey silver fin Made in USA amps...

Musician's Friend apparently also has these in stock and ready to ship.

I am tempted, as it would be nice to have a permanent traveling backup amp for the gig bag. I have become complacent with bringing redundant backup gear since I hadn't had a malfunction in quite some time, but it bit me in the ass last weekend when I didn't have a backup bass to the one I had completed a gig 15 hours earlier with no issues, which was just... dead. I bought a GK MB200 for that and for micro gigs, but have taken to keeping it set up on a One10 in my living room.

These little guys look intriguing.

At the Peavey booth at NAMM, they sounded good (being played by professional musicians and all that). I regret not finding out how loud they could get. However, they were very solid feeling, nothing cheap about them. Plus, the bag they come with has extra pocket to carry stuff. I think all of these newer/smaller amps should come with such a bag.

OK, yeah I admitted it they are cute. But like "concept cars" I think this model demonstrates how much and reapidly the bass amp world has changed in the last 15 years. Even 10 years ago an amp and cab this small was unheard of. Technology moves forward. As I mentioned earlier, I'm only worried about the sound, if it actually captures the tone of a Trace. I played a Trace while living in California and it was fantastic.
